Disclosure Statement
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires every review website to disclose its relationship with presented providers. In accordance with FTC guidelines we would like to declare that we do not act on behalf of any web hosting company or web service presented on our WHS site.
Nevertheless we still may receive financial compensations from some of them.
Those come as referral payments or affiliate commissions from related providers.
To put it plainly – when you visit a service provider’s website through a link on our site and you end up making a purchase we may earn a commission.
Please, note that this action does not induce any additional cost to you.
In fact you may even be benefited. As approved affiliates with many web services and networks, we have access to a large number of providers’ discounts and special deals. Thus through our affiliate links we may often offer better prices than those posted on providers websites. For what it is worth, we only review products and services that we believe will add value to our readers.
In our previous “we may earn a commission” statement there is a valid reason for using the word “may”. Please, know that our commissions are subject to certain conditions.
The main ones are:
a) The web hosting or other web service provider has to provide a legitimate affiliate or reward program.
b) Commissions may only be eligible through a “qualified” purchaser (a real verified non-returning customer). The user must have an active account, meaning using the purchased hosting or email services. If an account is dormant or inactive, especially within the first 1-2 months of the provided service, no commissions will be paid.
c) The service must be held for a specific time period (usually at least 2 to 4 months).
d) Any actions that are not in line with web service providers’ policies may result in the termination of the user’s account without any previous notice. If that happens before the probation period, as per section c), any affiliate commissions will be forfeited accordingly.
e) The purchase cannot be originated from untraceable sources, spamming or non-acceptable link placements.
f) Some providers only pay commissions for qualified purchases from selected countries: US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
g) The commissions are affected by various threshold limits and transaction fees.
Web Hosting Sun is also a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Commissions we receive are to be perceived as a reward, compensation and support for our work in terms of maintaining the website, writing new articles, publishing quality content and unbiased reviews, approving submitted users’ reviews, replying to our readers’ emails, comments, covering website related expenses, and so on.
Thanks to that we are able to provide our free content, reviews, comparison services and other useful information. Eventually the fees we receive should be also seen as a partial reimbursement for our web marketing, advertising and social media activities.
In case you still have any questions regarding our disclosure statement you can always read more at FTC Guide or reach out to us through our Contact Us page.
Thank you,
WHS Team
